Values look wrong

Wrong signs, implausible self-sufficiency, double counting: the three classics and their built-in fixes.

"The battery claims to be charging while it's discharging"

The classic: not every manufacturer reports battery power with the same sign. Franzl normally calibrates this itself (it compares the direction against the state-of-charge trend), but for some devices that takes a while, or there just isn't enough movement to go on.

The definitive fix: Battery device detail → "Battery direction""Flip direction". This takes effect immediately, stays that way for good, and the auto-calibration will never override it again.

"Self-sufficiency/consumption looks implausible"

These values live and die by the meter role: Franzl needs to know which meter measures the grid, which one only measures an inverter, and which one measures a single load.

"Solar shows negative values at night" / "tiny ghost values"

Inverters draw a few watts in standby, and some report this as negative production. Franzl clamps this to zero when storing the data; on the live display, such tiny values can briefly show up. No action needed.

"Today's values jump after a restart"

After a gateway restart, daily totals need a few minutes until all meters have reported in again. If gaps persist for hours, check Case B in "A device shows no data".
