How it connects
Franzl uses the Home Assistant custom integration sfstar/hass-victron (installable via HACS). If your device is set up there, Franzl finds it automatically.
Setup
The MultiPlus-II has no network interface of its own — it connects through your Victron GX device (e.g. Cerbo GX or Venus GX). The HACS integration sfstar/hass-victron reads the GX device via Modbus TCP and brings the values into Home Assistant, where Franzl finds them. Home Assistant's BLE connection is read-only and isn't suitable for control.
Requirements
- A Victron GX device (Cerbo GX, Venus GX or similar) on the network
- Modbus TCP enabled on the GX device (Settings → Services → Modbus TCP)
- ESS Assistant set up on the MultiPlus-II (via VEConfigure)
