How it connects
Franzl uses the Home Assistant custom integration hass-victron (installable via HACS). If your device is set up there, Franzl finds it automatically.
Setup
Control runs through your Victron GX device (e.g. Cerbo GX or Venus GX) via Modbus TCP: the MultiPlus-II itself has no network interface of its own. Alternatively, there's the optional HACS integration hass-victron for Home Assistant; Home Assistant's BLE connection is read-only and isn't suitable for control.
Requirements
- A Victron GX device (Cerbo GX, Venus GX or similar) on the network
- Modbus TCP enabled on the GX device (Settings → Services → Modbus TCP)
- ESS Assistant set up on the MultiPlus-II (via VEConfigure)
