How it connects

Franzl reads this device through the Home Assistant integration tplink. If your device is already set up there, Franzl finds it automatically.

Setup

The connection runs through the Home Assistant integration tplink: after a one-time login with your TP-Link cloud credentials, the connection then runs locally (polled roughly every 5 seconds).

Requirements

One-time login with TP-Link cloud credentials (local afterwards)
On newer firmware you may need to enable "Third-Party Compatibility" in the Tapo app
