How it connects
Franzl connects to the device directly and locally: via its IP address in your home network, no cloud detour.
Setup
The connection doesn't run through a Home Assistant integration, but directly over Modbus via an RS485-to-TCP gateway. Important: the commonly cited interface TCB-IFMB641TLE is the wrong choice (pure climate control only, no hot water/zone control); the correct one is the accessory interface BMS-IFMB0AWR-E (Estia 4/5, AW-LINK) or BMS-IFMB0UEW-E (Estia R32).
Requirements
- The correct accessory interface: BMS-IFMB0AWR-E (Estia 4/5) or BMS-IFMB0UEW-E (Estia R32), not the TCB-IFMB641TLE
- An RS485-to-TCP gateway between the heat pump and the network
