How it connects

Franzl reads this device through the Home Assistant integration solax. If your device is already set up there, Franzl finds it automatically.

Setup

Solar values, state of charge and feed-in are read via Home Assistant's solax integration (locally through the Wi-Fi dongle). Controlling battery modes and the feed-in limit additionally requires the HACS integration solax_modbus (Modbus over RS485/TCP).

Requirements

For control: the additional HACS integration solax_modbus set up; newer dongle firmware sometimes provides the read-only connection only within its own factory Wi-Fi network, so the Modbus route is preferable for reliable control
