How it connects

Setup
The air conditioner is connected via the Samsung cloud: Home Assistant's smartthings integration connects to your SmartThings account via OAuth and controls temperature, operating mode and fan level.
Requirements
- Device set up in the SmartThings app
- Home Assistant (version 2025.2 or later) connected to your SmartThings account via OAuth
- Samsung is moving the free SmartThings API access to a paid subscription starting October 2026; this also affects this connection
