How it connects
Franzl reads this device through the Home Assistant integration modbus. If your device is already set up there, Franzl finds it automatically.
Setup
The heat pump is connected via Home Assistant's modbus integration: this requires the official Samsung accessory MIM-B19N or MIM-B19NT, which is mounted on the unit and exposes the Modbus registers for operating mode as well as heating and hot-water setpoints.
Requirements
- Official Samsung accessory MIM-B19N / MIM-B19NT installed and connected to Home Assistant via Modbus TCP
- On systems with only one heating zone, field reports indicate that only Zone 1 is controllable via Modbus, while Zone 2 remains manual
- A separate switching meter is recommended for electrical power consumption; the Modbus connection does not provide power readings
