How it connects

Franzl uses the Home Assistant custom integration violet_pool_controller (installable via HACS). If your device is set up there, Franzl finds it automatically.

Setup

Connected via the HACS custom integration violet_pool_controller over a local HTTP/JSON API: no cloud needed. The 3-stage filter pump, heating/solar, and dosing are controllable.

Requirements

Home Assistant version 2026.5 or later
The Violet controller has its own PV surplus mode, disable it during setup so that two systems don't counteract each other at the same time
