How it connects

Franzl reads this device through the Home Assistant integration mqtt. If your device is already set up there, Franzl finds it automatically.

Setup

Connection via MQTT: your OpenDTU device announces itself to Home Assistant via auto-discovery once MQTT is set up. For models with "W" in the name (integrated WiFi), the "Hoymiles HMS-xxxxW-2T" profile applies instead, because OpenDTU doesn't support these. At night, when the inverter is powered off, it's briefly unreachable; that's normal.
