Fronius Ohmpilot (Modbus-Steuerung)
Hot water Basic support Control being verified
The control path for this device is implemented, but not yet verified end-to-end on real hardware. Reading and display are unaffected.
What Franzl can do with this device
| Measure live power | ✓ |
| Meter energy (kWh) | — |
| Read state of charge (SoC) | — |
| Read temperature | ✓ |
| Control power | — |
| Control operating mode | — |
| Set target temperature | — |
This device is integrated read-only: Franzl shows its measurements and includes them in the optimization, but does not actively control it.
How it connects
Franzl connects to the device directly and locally: via its IP address in your home network, no cloud detour.
Setup
Experimental path: stepless wattage control via the Ohmpilot's OWN Modbus server (on the Ohmpilot's IP, NOT the inverter, because the inverter's Modbus interface does not expose the Ohmpilot). The registers are community-verified, not officially documented by Fronius, so test on your own hardware before relying on it. When in doubt, use the simpler Boost-via-IP path.
Prerequisites
- Ohmpilot offers a Modbus TCP server on its own IP
- Static IP for the Ohmpilot
What you enter
- Ohmpilot IP address: Required
The Ohmpilot itself (not the inverter)
Example:
10.0.0.51 - Port: optional
Default:
502 - Unit ID: optional
Default:
1 - Max. heating power (W): optional
Rated power of the heating element: upper limit for control
Default:
9000
