How it connects
Franzl connects to the device directly and locally: via its IP address in your home network, no cloud detour.
Setup
The simplest path: Franzl controls the Ohmpilot boost directly over its web address. You only need to type in the Ohmpilot's IP address, nothing else (no Modbus, no settings on the inverter). "Heat now" switches the boost on; surplus heating itself is still handled by the Fronius unit.
Prerequisites
- Ohmpilot reachable on the same network
- Tip: give the Ohmpilot a static IP in your router (DHCP reservation), otherwise the address can change. Franzl will still automatically re-find the device, but a static IP is more reliable.
What you enter
- Ohmpilot IP address: Required
In the Ohmpilot web interface under Network. If the IP changes later, Franzl will automatically find the device again.
Example:
10.0.0.51 - Port: optional
Default:
80 - Heating power (W): optional
Rated power of the heating element (display/planning)
Default:
2500
