How it connects

Franzl reads this device through the Home Assistant integration fronius. If your device is already set up there, Franzl finds it automatically.

Reading works right away. For active control, enter the device's IP address once in the Franzl app (“Make controllable” in the device detail).

Setup

Solar values and battery state of charge come via the Home Assistant integration fronius (read-only). If you also want to control the battery (limit charging/discharging, hold a reserve), you do that directly in the Franzl app via your inverter's IP address (Modbus TCP), without going through Home Assistant.

Requirements

Enable "Control via Modbus" in the inverter's web interface (Settings → Communication), otherwise all write commands are rejected
Set the data format to "int + SF" (not "float")
The battery must not be in energy-saving mode (waking up takes about 10 minutes)
